In general, individuals can visit the Site without identifying themselves or revealing any personal information. The School's web servers may collect the domain names and source IP addresses of visitors but not the e-mail addresses. The information collected may be aggregated to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the Site, pages viewed, and similar data. The School may use this information to measure Site utilization and to enhance Site content. There are times, when the School may require information from the individual, such as name, address and other contact information, in order to access certain areas of the Site. The School will only collect this information when the individual has voluntarily submitted it. The individual will be notified at the time of collection when the personal information is being collected and retained.
JIS reserves the right to use personally identifiable information voluntarily submitted to the School to respond to an individual's inquiry. In addition, JIS may use the collected information to assist the School in improving the Site and services. Any and all uses of collected information will comply with applicable law. The collected information may also be used to contact individuals in response to questions, concerns and requests.
The School reserves the right to utilize a technology called "cookies." A cookie is a tiny element of data that a web site (including the Site) can send to the individual's Internet browser, which may then be stored on the individual's hard drive so the Site can recognize the individual when they return. Internet browsers may be set to notify the individual when a cookie is received.
The School shall not release or provide an individual's personal or business information to any third party, except as described below. JIS shall fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies and judicial inquires along with other authorized third parties to enforce laws, intellectual property rights and other rights. The School may be required or elect to furnish specific information to third parties in connection with these objectives. Situations may develop in which it may be necessary to provide some or all of an individual's information to third parties in connection with effectively maintaining and operating the Site.
The Site is made available exclusively for the stakeholders, friends and interested parties of JIS. The School may require the individual to provide unique identifiers, such as family or student numbers, to confirm and verify the identity and validity of the individual.
If the Site is being used to access the School's electronic payment system, the School shall require the individual to provide certain financial information so that the payment transaction may be completed. For individuals utilizing the electronic payment system, the School shall collect, store and use non-public personally identifiable information such as an individual's name, address, credit card number, bank routing and account number, JIS account number and email address.
The School's payment system will collect information regarding the actual bill, and payment transaction to include payment date and amount. JIS will secure, store and protect any collected information in the same manner as other personal and customer information is secured, stored and collected. This protection approach shall be true for all information collected from our current clients as well as our former clients.
The School shall disclose information to third parties about an individual's account when such an action is:
- Necessary for completing transactions duly authorized by the individual (for example, to an outside service provider that operates the electronic payment system recognized and utilized by the School);
- Required to verify the existence and condition of an individual's account for an authorized third party; or
- Required to comply with an official inquiry from a government agency or certified court order; or
- Requested by the individual in writing.
The School may disclose any and/or all of the information collected to affiliates of JIS, and to nonaffiliated third parties that perform services on behalf of the School, to include but not be limited to marketing services, stakeholder and/or alumni activities and programs deemed to be of interest to the School's stakeholders. The School reserves the right to provide non-personal identifying information in aggregate to those third parties deemed appropriate.
JIS employs commercially reasonable physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to help ensure the security, integrity and privacy of all personal information. However, due to the inherent insecurity of the Internet, no security measures should be viewed as one hundred percent effective in all circumstances. Jakarta Intercultural School is not responsible for any breach of its security or for the actions of any third parties that may obtain any personal information.
