Application Timeline

JIS offers rolling admissions for students coming from schools outside of Indonesia, or whose parents are employed by JIS founding embassies (US, UK, Australia). They can apply at any time.

Students transferring from a local or international school in the Greater Jakarta Area (JABODETABEK) are considered Local Transfers and have fixed application deadlines. 

JIS Admissions follows this timeline for August enrollment:

    • March 1
      o Application Deadline for LOCAL TRANSFERS applying for the August (First Semester) intake. Applications not completed by March 1 will be cancelled. 

    • April 1
      o Admission decisions for LOCAL TRANSFERS will be released. 
      o Start of Interviews for EY 3 (KG) applicants

    • May 1
      o Start of Interviews for EY 2 and EY 1
      o Start of Enrollment Visits for admitted students
      o School fees for the coming school year will be published by the JIS Business Office

    • May 20
      o Late Applications, August Intake: Applications from Lanes 1 and 2 that are completed after May 30 are considered Late Applications. Admission decisions for Late Applications will be released starting August 1. New students from this group will likely not be able to join orientation activities nor start on the first day of the new school year

    • August 1
      o Annual school fees are due.
      o New JIS families should plan to arrive in Jakarta by this date in order to complete registration requirements and to join orientation sessions
      o Start of admission decisions for Late Applications 
    • November 1
      o Application Deadline for LOCAL TRANSFERS applying for the January (Second Semester) intake. Applications not completed by November 1 will be cancelled.
    • December 1
      o Admission decisions for LOCAL TRANSFERS will be released. 
      o Late Applications, January Intake: Applications from Lanes 1 and 2 that are completed after December 1are considered Late Applications. Admission decisions for Late Applications will be released after school resumes in January.  New students from this group will likely not be able to join orientation activities nor start on the first day of the January Term
