Throughout the JIS community, we believe learning with technology should be dynamic and borderless, thriving in real and virtual spaces expansive, empowering us with the skills and opportunities to creatively express our Essential Qualities in new dimensions personal and compelling, occurring naturally as it does in other aspects of our lives, and purposeful, enriching our understanding of how and what we learn.

To realize this vision, we provide an integrated, developmental approach to technology skill development. In the Elementary Schools, this philosophy is supported through ready and abundant access to a combination of PC labs and mobile carts.  In the Middle and High Schools, a Macbook 1:1 program enables students to further develop the skills to confidently and competently create, collaborate and communicate in the digital realm.

Library Media Services provides stimulating learning environments that support the Jakarta International School vision and aims to promote an information empowered and literature enriched school community of independent, lifelong learners.

The purpose of the library is to:

• support, enrich and implement the school's learning and teaching program by collaborating with teachers to plan, produce and teach curriculum units which help students develop independent learning skills
• nurture, inspire and stimulate the vital importance of reading for pleasure and information
• manage an extensive and relevant collection of curriculum resources to support the learning, co-curricula and recreational reading needs of the school community
• provide a welcoming, flexible learning environment for the school community in which students can learn individually, in small groups and within a whole class.
