The JIS Peduli Art Auction and Sale will comprise the following:
- A public auction of artwork during the Gala Evening in April.
- Silent auctions of selected artwork, both online and during the Gala Evening.
- Direct sales of all remaining artwork, either online or during the Gala Evening.
- All items will be published in an online catalogue (E-Catalogue) that will be available to the entire JIS community, including alumni abroad. Those who cannot attend the Gala Evening will be able to either purchase or submit bids on line.
Conditions:
- Each artist may submit up to three (3) pieces of artwork for consideration. These must be the artist's own work and must be accompanied by an Entry Form and a digital image of the artwork (150 to 300 dpi/ppi resolution) for the online catalogue.
- The artwork must be delivered to the Communications Office (2nd floor of the Resource Center) by Wednesday, 14 March.
- All pictures and photos for display must be
framed for hanging. Framing can be arranged through Nice Frame on Jl. Terogong Raya (across the road
from JIS). Artists should allow up to 10 days for full framing.
- The JIS Peduli Art Auction Selection Committee will:
a. Determine whether a submission is to be auctioned or sold.
b. Determine the price of items to be sold.
c. Reserve the right to return any items that are deemed to be inappropriate for the event. - Unsold artwork will be returned to the artist, who will be responsible for retrieving their artwork from the Communications Office.
Reserve Prices:
While this is a fundraiser and we are asking for artwork to be donated, we recognize that:
- Professional artists in our community may wish to be reasonably compensated for contributing their work to the auction;
- Other artists may need to recover the cost of framing and materials.
In both instances, the artist should specify a Reserve Price for his/her work. This is the price below which the artwork will not be sold and which will be returned to the artist. If the artwork is sold over the Reserve Price, the artist will receive the Reserve Price and any surplus will be put towards the JIS Peduli Fund.
Limited/Unlimited Editions:
For photographs and other items that can be reproduced, the value is greatly enhanced if these are identified as Limited Editions signed by the artist.
Limited editions
The artist must:
- Sign and number each print before it is framed.
- Specify how many prints comprise the limited edition (ex: 1, 10 or 20 prints). The artist is honour-bound not to sell more than the number of prints stated.
- Specify how many limited edition prints will be made available for sale in the JIS Peduli Art Auction (assuming there is demand for more than one print). Only one print need be submitted in advance of the event. The artist must provide any additional limited edition prints within two weeks following the Gala Evening.
Unlimited Editions
The artist may also provide unlimited edition prints (unsigned by the artist) for additional sale. Please indicate how much the original framing cost so this can be reflected in the pricing.
JIS reserves the right to ask for as many reprints as necessary to complete all orders. These may be sold framed or unframed and priced accordingly.
